Pre-Aug 2025: $800 duty-free

“Gift $20” cleared in 12h, 0 duty. 95% of Kakobuy hauls used informal.

Aug 29, 2025: de minimis revoked (China/HK)

All parcels dutiable at 10-20% or flat $25-50. CBP flagged brand keywords.

2026: wording is the lever

Our 18-parcel test: generic + low value cleared; brand + high value = 9-day hold + 18% duty.

FAQ: Will splitting look suspicious?

CBP sees 2 parcels from same shipper 3 days apart as normal (we did 6 splits, 0 flags). Don’t split same SKU ×5 in one day — spread 1 week if reselling.
